About the Artist
“Sometimes seeing things from a different perspective is all that is needed to understand the world around you. I try to relay that perspective in my work as Mountains can be made into mole hills as much as mole hills can be made into mountains.”, Mark Medina
Mark Medina is a photographer out of Selma California who has be taking pictures and video since he was a teen as he was the defacto videographer for his bothers youth soccer games while his Dad coached. His photography background comes from his Father who was a hobbyist photographer and one year of high school photography class taught by Mr. Polzin. Everything else was trail and error and lots of pushing his own photographic boundaries. He is a big fan of Life Photographers
Mark is a bit of an odd ball as he likes to look at the world from a different perspective with a weird sense of humor that stems from such influences as Red Foxx, Benny Hill, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, George Carlen, Wayans Brothers, Cheech and Chong plus Gabriel Iglesias. His musical tastes are just as varied as he listens to pretty much everything from classical to Slip Knott to The HU, David Bowie, MXPX and Bob Marley.
He actively spends his time leading Retro Walks and Photo Therapy sessions.
